Malpi Primary School, which has relocated in Gairidhara, Kathmandu is very good primary school. My son in class (grade) 2 is really learning. But I think the social behavior of children (that actually reflect the behavior of their parents in them) needs some consideration. Followings are my suggestions:
Elementary (Primary) School Daily Classroom Rules for Students Using Behavior Chart
1. Respect school and personal property of others: Students do not dare to touch others' belongings without prior permission of the owner.
2. Respect privacy of others: Students respect personal space of others, for example, a student does not follow his/her peer in the bathroom.
3. Do not be physical: students use words to express their feelings instead of physical tactics such as pushing, pulling, biting, or taking something.
4. Take turn and share: Students line up and wait for his or her turn, and share the classroom.
5. Do not pick on others: Students are not allowed to grouping in the classroom to isolate an individual(s) for bullying as social outcast – for or against peer-pressure.
6. Keep hands and feet to yourself: Students sit independently all by themselves and are not allowed to move (touch) all over others or objects with their hands and feet in the classroom.
7. Listen when others are speaking: Students are not allowed to speak or move around while someone speaking in the classroom.
8. Request and apologize: Students use words "EXCUSE ME" and "SORRY" in the classroom before or after interrupting others.
9. Walk, don't run, at all time in the school.
Consequences for Not Following Rules (School ought to introduce Behavior Chart in the classroom which should reflect in the GPA of the students)
1st Verbal warning from the teacher
2nd Student pulls a green card from the Behavior Chart - 5 points
3rd Student pulls a yellow card from the Behavior Chart - 10 points
4th Student pulls a blue card from the Behavior Chart - 15 points
5th Student pulls the red card. In this case, the teacher will contact parents – for student suspension for certain period (days or months) and parents need counseling.
